What is Proofing?
Proofing is when an audiobook is reviewed for mistakes made by the narrator (or sometimes the engineer) during production.
The mistakes are then sent to the narrator for correction.
If you hear a narrator say they are working on pick-ups, they are correcting mistakes made during production.
Common Proofing Techniques
- Use of an AI - powered software (usually Pozotron) to scan the audio and compare it to the manuscript for accuracy and gaps.
- Manually reading the manuscript while listening to the audio for mistakes.
- A combination of the above two.
At Audio Heaux Official, we manually proof our audio. A minimum of two passes are made to catch as many mistakes as possible for an easier listening experience.
